.
What are your league boundaries and what if we live outside them?
League Boundaries
- Per Little League rules, you must live within our league
boundaries in order to play in the league and be eligible for
All Star tournament play.
Is your program recreational or competitive?
The short answer is BOTH. We offer opportunities for players of all skill levels
to excel and be challenged. To learn more about the philosophy of the Little League
program, click here.
What league or division should my child play in?
League placement is determined by the child's league age and skill level, as follows.
Major League (Kid-Pitch):
- Players who were previously drafted to a Spring season Major League team automatically return to that team.
- Players league age 9-12 can be eligible, but must attend a skills evaluation for consideration.
Minor League (Kid-Pitch):
- Players league age 9-12 who are not drafted to a Major League team are assigned to the Minor League.
- Players league age 8 who wish to be considered to play up in the Minor League may attend the skills evaluation for consideration at the parents' request.
Southern League (Machine-Pitch):
- Players league age 7-8 are automatically placed in the Southern League.
- Players league age 6 who have played at least one season of
Farm League and wish to be considered to play up in the Southern League may attend the skills evaluation for consideration at the parents' request.
Farm League (Coach-Pitch):
- Players league age 6 are automatically placed in the Farm League.
- Players league age 5 who have played at least one season of T-ball and are physically and developmentally ready to move up to coach-pitch are placed in the Farm League at the parents request.
T-Ball League:
- Players league age 4 are automatically placed in the T-Ball League.
- Players league age 5 who have either never played T-ball, or who need an additional season of T-ball due to skills and/or size are placed in the T-Ball League at the parents request.
If every child plays (in Little League), why do you hold skills evaluations?
The skills evaluations are an opportunity for our managers and coaches to assess
your child's abilities. The skills assessment helps to determine the appropriate
level of play for your child and helps us to assign players to teams in a fair and
balanced manner.
Is there any required volunteering or parent participation?
While there is no required participation, we encourage all parents to be involved in
some capacity with their child's team and/or the league in general. A high level
of family participation enriches the Little League experience for everyone.
Are there costs beyond the registration fee?
Yes. Each child is provided with a uniform jersey or t-shirt and cap.
Catching gear is provided to each manager for team use. Parents must
provide their player with baseball pants and socks; cleats (plastic only); a glove;
and a bat. At your first team meeting, your manager will
inform you of what color the uniform pants and socks should be. Some parents also prefer
to buy their child his/her own batting helmet rather
than using a team helmet.
T-Ball and Farm League players do not have to wear cleats; running or tennis shoes are fine. It
is also not necessary to purchase a bat for your T-Ball or Farm
League player, as a team bat will
be available.
Other costs that may arise include providing a team snack after one or more games;
purchasing individual and/or team photos; and contributing to costs for a team party, player trophies or gifts, and
coaches gifts. None of these costs are mandatory.
Do you offer scholarships or payment plans? How do I apply?
Yes, we do offer full and partial scholarships and payment plans. No child is turned
away from Little League due to financial circumstances. However, please remember
that our league is operated entirely by volunteers and receives no funding from
Little League International. Our operating costs are entirely supported by registration
fees. If you are unable to pay all or part of your child's fee
we will be happy to work with you, but would ask that you
volunteer your time to help support the league in some capacity.
To apply for a scholarship or payment plan, please attend the
Open Registration date to do so in person.
When do you play? How many practices and games are there?
When can I get a schedule?
Games and practices are scheduled on weekday evenings (no earlier than 5:30 p.m.)
and all day on Saturdays, beginning no earlier than 9 am. Sunday
afternoons may be used to make up rained out games if necessary,
and are also used to offer instructional clinics and other events.
Because scheduling is dependent on the number of teams and other factors, specific game and
practice schedules for each league are not set until shortly
before the season begins. Your child's coach will contact you
directly with the team's first practice time and will provide
you with a full season schedule as soon as possible.
Can my children play together on the same team?
It depends on their ages and skill levels. When siblings are eligible for the same
league based on their league age, they will always be placed on the same team (in
all leagues below Major, which is subject to more strict draft rules). Requests
for a child to play up or play down a league in order to play on the same team
as a sibling are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. While we understand that allowing
this can make things much more convenient for the family, we must also consider
the skill levels of both children, safety issues, and Little League rules and guidelines. Any such request should be indicated on the
registration form.
Can I request that my child play with a friend or for a specific coach?
Players in T-Ball and Farm Leagues may make two requests to be
placed on a team with a friend or with a specific manager/coach. These requests should
be made on the registration form. Every attempt will be made to honor requests in
those leagues if the request(s) are made at registration.
Requests made after teams have been assigned me not be possible
to honor. No such requests can be honored for in the
Southern, Minor
or Major leagues.
