EMNLL has benefited greatly from the dedication of individuals who have selflessly
shared their time and love of the game with our program. We sincerely thank all
of our volunteers, and recognize some of our "all stars" here:
Richard Hilton has
been a Manager with EMNLL since 1966, and managed our 1983 World Series Championship Team. Mr. Hilton continues
to manage the Major League Angels at EMNLL, as well as serving on the EMNLL Board
of Directors. In 2000, he received Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement
Awards from the Cobb County Parks & Recreation and Cultural Affairs Departments,
respectively, and was named Volunteer of the Year by the National Little League
organization. Most recently, Coach Hilton led our 2004 9-10 Year Old All Star team
to a District 2 Championship and the State semi-finals.
Harold Brannen has been involved with Little League baseball for more than
twenty years. He manages the Major League Braves at EMNLL and is also a Little League
umpire. Most recently, Coach Brannen led our 2005 Little
League (11-12) All Star team to a District 2 Championship and the State semi-finals.
Len Cheek (deceased), manager of the
EMNLL Major League Giants until his retirement from coaching in 2004, had coached
at EMNLL since 1977. Coach Cheek led his Giants to both regular season and League
Tournament championships in his final season.
Bob Crutchley
has been involved in Little League Baseball since 1965 and provided many years of faithful service to East Marietta
National Little League. In 1994, he was named Volunteer of the Year by the National
Little League organization. Mr. Crutchley is a past President of the EMNLL Board
of Directors and is currently an Assistant District Administrator for Georgia Little
League District 2.
Richard Barney retired
as a coach of the Major League Angels in Fall 2005. He had coached at EMNLL since
1969.
Shirley Bahner retired from the EMNLL Board of Directors in 2005, after having
served as the Board's Secretary for many years. Shirley also put in countless hours
of volunteer duty for our program and was responsible for organizing our traditional
Opening Day parade.
George Kell (deceased)
served as Groundskeeper for EMNLL from 1980 until 2004.
