The first big event of the season is the OPENING DAY PARADE on Saturday, March 6th! This has been an ongoing tradition to start the season. The teams will decorate a pickup truck and have fun riding in the back! This year the parade will begin at EastValley Elementary School on Lower Roswell Road.
Here's your checklist to prepare for the day:
- Secure a pickup truck for the parade
- Coordinate the truck decorations (posters, ballons, streamers, etc.) and morning snack (donuts, juice, etc.)
- Assign a responsible adult to ride in the back of the truck and supervise the players
- Your truck will need to be at the EastValley parking lot by 8:00 AM
- Your team will meet at 8:15 AM to decorate their truck and get sugared-up! Parents may drop off their player at EastValley or park next door at Eastside Baptist Church - Only the parade vehicles will be able to park at EastValley.
- Upon arrival at the ballpark, keep your team together until they are announced to go onto the field for the opening ceremonies.
- Games will proceed after the ceremonies- so if you have the first game listed for that day -please come prepared with your baseball equipment and ready to play
The next event to plan for will be PICTURE DAY on Saturday, March 20th. You will receive a schedule as soon as it is available.
